Allergens and ingredients

Sweets are made in factories, not in our kitchen, and manufacturers change recipes and packaging without always telling us straight away. That means we cannot promise that any sweet is free from a particular allergen. Please check before ordering if you or the person you are buying for has an allergy or intolerance.

Many of our sweets carry "may contain" warnings for nuts, peanuts, milk, soya, gluten or egg. Where a product page mentions an ingredient, it is there as a guide only — the packaging on the sweet you receive is always the definitive source.

Email mail@sugarandco.uk before you place your order and tell us which sweets you are interested in and what you need to avoid. We will check the supplier ingredient and allergen information for the stock we are holding, and tell you what it says. If we cannot confirm something, we will say so rather than guess.

If you are buying a gift bundle for someone else, please check with them first — we cannot check ingredients on their behalf.

Your sweets are picked and packed by hand in the same space, using the same scoops and scales, so traces can transfer between sweets even where an individual product does not list an allergen. If cross-contamination is a risk for you, please ask us before ordering and we will tell you honestly whether we can pack safely for you.

Where we describe a sweet as vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free, that description comes from the manufacturer's specification for that product. It is a guide, not a guarantee, and it can change when a recipe changes.
